Method and right of reply
What we do
We record what is visible on sales pages: displayed prices, claims, review counts, guarantees, return conditions. Every observation is dated, comes with its sources, and is kept as a capture or an archive.
Two statuses, no more
- Observed we saw it on the stated date and we keep a record of it.
- Unverified a hint, an excerpt, a figure whose origin we cannot trace. It is flagged as such and is never the basis of a conclusion.
What we do not do
- We do not call a shop a “scam”: we describe facts and let the reader conclude.
- We do not name individuals, only companies, as they present themselves in their own legal notices.
- We do not claim two products are identical when we have only found them very similar.
- We earn no commission on the shops or products mentioned. If that ever changes, it will be written here, plainly.
Check it yourself
- Reverse image search on the product photos (Google Lens, TinEye).
- Compare with marketplace listings, with dated captures.
- Price history of the displayed page on archive.org (Wayback Machine).
- Domain creation date (whois / RDAP).
- Ads currently running in Meta’s Ad Library.
- Legal notice: the company’s identity, address and registration number.
Corrections and right of reply
If you are named and some information is inaccurate or out of date, write to us with the link to the report and the item concerned. We check, we correct or remove whatever has to be, and the correction is published at the bottom of the report with its date. A reply from the shop can be published as is.
