Selected reviews
A wall of reviews only shows what the shop chooses to display, and a “verified” badge does not guarantee a purchase from this shop.
What you see
A wall of photos and enthusiastic comments, all at 4 or 5 stars, with a “Verified” badge. Stories that follow the same pattern (“I tried everything, nothing worked, then a miracle”).
How to check
- Look at the third-party platform (Trustpilot, Google): do critical reviews appear there? What proportion are they?
- Compare the date of the first reviews with the domain’s creation date (whois or RDAP).
- Run a reverse image search on the review photos: some shops import reviews from other marketplaces.
- Read the nuanced reviews: they are often the most informative.
Takeaway
A repeated review or pattern is not enough to say a review is fake. Only write it if you have a specific element (photo reused elsewhere, inconsistent date).
