The gap with the supplier
The same product, or a visually very similar one, offered far cheaper on a marketplace.
What you see
A product sold for €40, €60 or €80 in a shop that turns up at €12 or €15 on a marketplace, with very similar photos. Example observed: a cat basket at €11.89 on AliExpress, offered at $79.95 in a shop.
How to check
- Run a reverse image search (Google Lens, TinEye) on the product photos.
- Compare the same size and the same variant, with shipping and customs duties included.
- Take a dated capture of each listing, with the page address. Marketplace prices change fast.
- Find several listings, not just one: the price varies from one seller to another.
Takeaway
Prices are free: a gap is not illegal in itself. Say “very similar” until you have compared photo by photo, and “identical” only if you have.
